So if you ever want Ned Colletti to stop signing other people’s stuff and come over and talk to you, here’s a great way to do it.

First, go to Don & Charlies for food in Scottsdale.

Don & Charlies Restaurant, Scottsdale, AZ

Second, order the dish named after him, “Ned Colletti’s Chicken Schnitzel.”

Third, when waiting for a Ned Autograph, tell him that you liked his Chicken Schnitzel.

My friends stumbled upon this process and Ned stopped giving autographs to other people and came over and talked to him about why it was named that.

Fun story, and I bet it will work a second time.

So there’s a pond separating the Dodger’s side from the White Sox side.  While my friends were there, someone jumped in and started swimming.  Some fan even threw them a life saving ring just for fun.  So yes, you can swim, but here’s two things.

1.  The pond has a pretty, but unnatural blue-green tint.  That’s because it uses reclaimed water.  Yes, it’s been purified and cleaned, but if the the public doesn’t trust it for drinking, you probably shouldn’t swim in it.

2.  If you swim in it, security will nicely wait for you to come to shore and then escort you out of the park…

I’m sure this guy won’t be the last in that pond….

Here’s a great tip from my friends on a great place and time to get Dodger Autographs:

“They open the stadium at 11:30 a.m., when there are 1 p.m. games. If you have not gotten there early enough to have seen the players walk from the clubhouse (adjacent to the stadium and inside stadium gates) to the fields in the early morning, you will catch them at about 11:30 to noon making their way BACK from the fields to the clubhouse.”

“This is when spectators/fans are separated from their favorite players by mere ropes. Many players stop to sign balls, hats, shirts, etc. and are all very generous with their time I noticed. The fans are so completely respectful, it seems no one is arrogant enough to encroach upon the players’ space. A few kids slipped under the ropes and got closer, but security was standing nearby and did nothing about this, unless the child was older. Younger kids did that quite a bit and got more of  a laugh out of security than anything.”

Great tip.

If you don’t know what a Gabion Wall is, Camelback Ranch will provide all the knowledge you need.  Being a Civil Engineer by day, I did know what a Gabion Wall is.  Basically it is a big wall-like cage that is filled with rocks.  You use local rocks to keep costs down and you keep the natural look of the area.  You stack them together to make a strong wall, and they turn into an architectural effect.  Camelback Ranch is full of Gabion Walls.

Class Dismissed.  I’ll give “A’s” to all Dodgerfans!
