About

Why this site?

When you’re a Dodgers fan living in Giant’s territory there are certain things you come to miss.   For one, you’re not in L.A. where the Dodgers are the main attraction.  Here – you only get the Giants.  The goal of this site is to provide all those things you really need as a Dodger fan, especially when you can’t find it locally -

  • A unique Blog giving perspective as life as a Dodger fan living in Giant’s territory
  • All the Dodger News you could ever want all in one place.
  • The gear you need to go to a Dodger game in SF – Hats and Jerseys and even clothes to dress your kids in.
  • A cool place describing SF and what you need if you’re going to come up here for the game.

Who am I?
I am Scott Wagner (sfdodgerfan) and I live in Giant’s territory.  I grew up in Southern California, but moved up here to run after my girl.  Now, 7 years later, I married that awesome girl (a Giant’s fan by the way), had 2 kids, and I’m all the more passionate about my Dodgers now than I ever was before.  I can’t stand the stinkin Giants.

First Dodger game Memory – not sure on the year – but it was the Hollywood Stars night, and I’m pretty sure Billy Crystal was playing.

Favorite Dodger player – #1 – Mike Scoiscia.  I always made my parents stay till the last out.  We lived 2 hours from the stadium, so they were always willing to get a jump on the drive home, especially if the Dodgers were losing.  At least twice in my life, I made my parents stay into extra innings and Mike had the game winning hit.  He was great then, and he’s still great now.   #2 – Steve Sax.  He was a great player and how can you not like a player with that name?  Close #3 – Brett Butler and Dave Roberts.  I was a steals guy myself, and those guys did it right.

Favorite Moment at the Stadium – Saw Lima time roll over the Cardinals in the playoffs and the crowd chanting MVP to Adrain Beltre.  What a game.

Current Favorite Players – Martin is number 1, but I love Casey Blake and Manny, and Loney is going to continue to turn heads.

When I knew I was in Giant’s territory – I moved into a house with some guys and was bringing in my Dodgers gear.  One of my roommates said, “Oh Scott, I found the perfect place for your Dodger Gear.”  Surprised, but delighted, I said, “Where?”  He said, “Right there – in the fire place.”  That’s when I knew, these fans weren’t friendly.  I find the fans smart and knowledgeable, but yeah, they’re totally lost on which team to like.

Special Thanks – Special Thanks to Westhost.com and the free e-book at Johnchow.com for helping getting this site off the ground.

    OH My Goodness Scott Wagner

I was just browsing the web searching for some ammo to fight last nights major loss….my husband is a Giants fan…and what do I find!! Your website!! This is too great. I kept thinking that I can’t be the only Bay Area Dodger Fan out there and that my husband and I defintely can’t be the only mismatched pair…and I stumble on your site. I am cracking up right now!!

Amy – good to hear from you. Glad you like the site! Us Dodger fans have to stick together! It’s amazing how many couples up here are half Dodgers, half Giants. Say hello next time you’re up this way!

    Hey Luis,
Thanks for saying hello and for the comments. I’m still building the site, and hope to have more of a forum for local fans soon. Sign up for the e-mail posts and keep leaving comments, and we’ll build up a group soon enough. They beat the Giants good last night. Hopefully it can continue tonight.

I was born in Los Angeles (not the burbs, but in LA), however we moved to NorCal when I was 7 and I moved to the City of San Francisco in 1987. In 1990, a friend from work and I (she is a huge Giants fan) bought season tickets and have had them ever since. This is our 20th year of having seats and our 10th year at AT&T Park. I love baseball and love my Dodgers! My brother and I have been to Cooperstown, Vero Beach and will be going to Arizona next spring. I enjoyed finding your blog and will be reading it regularly.

    Thanks,

    DodgerRick

Hey–I have been on the same page with you for the last 20 years. I grew up in LA, and I am tired of being abused by the SF Giants fans here in town and throughout the Bay Area. I would love to come up a spot for a bunch of SF Dodger fans can watch the NLCS games (depending that we’ll be there). Please e-mail me at: era39@aol.com. I am a baseball historian and a Dodger fan since 1968. Check out my baseball site: http://www.thisgreatgame.com.

  9. sfdodgerfan says:

    Hi Jess,

Thanks for saying hello. I’ll definitely keep things updated for fans this year and try to have more events where fans in different parts of the Bay Area can get together. I agree…the pitching still leaves too much to chance.
