So has anyone else noticed that this seems to be a really nasty cold season? It just seems that when people get it, they are down for 3-4 days minimum. It’s amazing the correlation: my daughter got sick, was up all night for 3 nights and the posts are delayed this week. Funny how that works.
I wish I could say Manny got a cold and that’s why he didn’t play in his first game, but apparently his hammy suddenly tightened up. Such it is.
As the title suggests, I went on the look out for Dodger stuff while at a Bay Area Mall. This time it was Champs Sports at the Oakridge Mall. They have all kinds of cool sports stuff including clothes, shoes, jerseys and hats. I thought maybe I would find something Dodgers, but for sure I should be able to find a couple of Dodger hats.
Well, I was almost right. Nope – not a single Dodger item of apparel, but I did find a hat. A hat. Yep, the standard vintage hat. They had Boston and lots of other teams using the Veterans logo, but no Dodgers.
I walked out of the store and told the two guys up front that “they needed more Dodger stuff.” They both huffed and laughed and gave me that classic “you’re in the wrong city guy” look. I walked out and that was that. Obviously that won’t be a highly recommended place for Dodger gear.
Now having said that, I looked on their website, and they actually do have some good Dodger stuff. Here’s the link to their Dodger page. Here’s also a link to the shoes shown in the image above. Not a half bad looking pair of shoes, especially for $19.99. If you look hard enough on that first link, you’ll find a really good deal on a Jeff Kent jersey too.
I’ll update the Dodger map with my find. If you know of any other local stores (or even non-local) where you can find really cool Dodger stuff, leave a comment below and I’ll update the map. In the mean time, here are the two hats I referenced above (from the SF Dodgerfan Store).
This one is the one they had in the store.
This one is the Veterans one I talked about.
